Best Hidden Talent
I’d have to say my drawing abilities. Most people just know me as a singer. I loved to draw even before I was aware of my singing abilities. It’s a form of therapy for me. I actually did Visual Arts for CXC. It’s a very difficult subject, but I did my best and received an excellent grade.
The best thing that I’ve accomplished to date is a good relationship with my mom. As a teenager, we NEVER got along. I don’t know why, but we never did. Now that I’m older and on my own, I guess we’ve both learned to accept our individual differences. We’re closer than we’ve ever been and I’m very thankful.
Ladies Anthem! I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but that song is POWER! It’s all about empowering females to stand up for themselves and to take control of their lives. I wrote that song a year and a half ago after a friend had related some of the things she endured in a relationship over a five-year span. She was emotionally and physically abused. Her former beau was a control freak. He never allowed her to leave the house unless he was with her. He dictated what she wore and who she could have as friends. I couldn’t believe it. I was so angry that I immediately began ranting on my Facebook profile. I eventually decided to put my feelings into a song.
I LOVE chocolate!!!! I mean who doesn’t? I have a terrible sweet-tooth so it’s hard for me to control myself sometimes. LOLL. Chocolate makes me happy…incredibly happy!
Best Advice (her to you)
I hate pity. I hate being pitied and I hate seeing people pitying themselves. I firmly believe that any issue can be resolved if you have faith in God and willpower. Too many times we complain about problems that we do little or nothing to solve. They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step and I totally agree. All it takes is some faith and a lot of determination. You can achieve any practical goal. Along the journey we might get lost and ask someone for directions and later realize that they intentionally steered us in the wrong direction. Obstacles might pop up to steer you off the path. It doesn’t matter. The only person who can change your perspective is you. Take that first step and keep pushing!
