So much to my annoyance and amusement (more annoyance than amusement), I have been made to endure copious Facebook status updates from a very reputable and overly talented Make-up Artiste (MUA) about her being “THE BEST” MUA in this beautiful country of ours. One of her most recent Facebook updates, posted on December 27 has compelled me to pen this piece; the piece is NOT meant to serve as a read to her but as reading material that I hope can create an atmosphere of inspiration and camaraderie among women. “Why do you come/go to the gym?” has been a question I’ve been hearing for most of my gym life. I’m petite, or for want of a more popular word, slim or ‘fine’ as we say in Guyana; and I weigh about 124 lbs (figure I saw last time I jumped on a scale), so people seem to have a hard time understanding my presence … Continue reading Why I go to the gym …
I’m not sure if you remember but MAGLYFE was officially launched for the first time on January 13, 2013. That means we celebrated our third birthday a few weeks ago. Happy Birthday to MAGLYFE!!!!!!!!! MAGLYFE is my baby, but to be honest sometimes it is a struggle to find/write stories. A personal struggle, either because I’m too lazy or just not motivated enough. Continue reading “Coffee Chronicles | Big Magic”
I can’t compare this experience to another because 1. this was my first coconut milk pedicure and 2. I’ve only done pedicures at this spa – Healing Waters Spa, but I can say that it was utterly mind-blowing. (I’m not overreacting!) One of my favourite things about Healing Waters is there weekly specials, follow them on Facebook and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Continue reading “That Time I Had A Coconut Milk Pedicure”

Last Sunday, my girlfriends and I decided to take #SundayFunday to the HJ Water World. It was my second time at the establishment, my first to really take in the sights (sites) and sounds. I was honestly impressed with the place. Continue reading “#SundayFunday at HJ Water World”
Happy New Year to you!!!!
366 new days. 366 new chances. An extra day to be awesome. Don’t you just love Leap Years??!!!!!!!!
What are you goals and aspirations for the New Year? New Year’s resolutions are usually the fixation at the beginning of every year. I’m not a resolutions kind of girl. Resolutions are great, don’t get me wrong, anything that motivates you to do your utmost is recommended. Sometimes we do get sidetracked and lose focus. I stay focused on my plans with the help of my vision board. I first learnt about the vision board from Necole Bitchie (Necole Kane, now she runs xonecole.com). I was immediately captivated and knew right away that it was something for me to try. Three years later and I’m still vision boarding. It’s definitely something I look forward to at the beginning of the year. I’m a dreamer, I’m always dreaming up new goals and plans to take over the world (not really, okay sometimes).
