Oily skin is something I struggle with daily, add our wonderful (overly) sunny weather and I’m presented with a tragedy of epic proportions. So when I found these two remedies on Instragram via @easyremedies, I knew I needed to try and share them.
Ground Oats & Coconut Oil:
This soothing mask is pretty simple, you’ll only need three ingredients. Mix 1 tablespoon ground oats with 2 tablespoon coconut oil and 2 teaspoon honey. Apply to your skin, gently scrubbing with your fingers. Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.
Egg White Face Mask:
Egg white face mask for acne and clearing clogged pores. Get rid of oily looking skin in under 20 minutes. Crack 1 egg in a bowl and add 1/3 tablespoon honey & 2 teaspoon lemon juice. Apply to your skin, if putting on your face be careful when applying near eyes and mouth. Let the mixture sit on your skin for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water. Moisturize with coconut oil.
The amazing thing about these natural remedies is that they’re, well, natural and not like most products that claim to reduce oily skin yet make matters worse, because of added ingredients that irritate rather than eliminate.
These remedies are not magic, just so we’re clear. Oily skin is very hard to control because it is guided by hormonal changes in our bodies. It is important that we take good care of our skin – cleanse, tone, exfoliate and hydrate regularly (and when you get use sunscreen). It is also essential to read labels before you use products to prevent irritation.
