Welcome to Naturalista! This series features Naturalistas and their natural hair care stories.
Name: Saudia Edghill
Occupation: Law Student, University of Guyana
When did you start your natural hair journey: December 2008
Why did you: Became tired of going to the salon and sitting long hours wasting time to get my hair done and listening to gossip.
What products do you use: Water, oils (olive, coconut, jojoba, tonka, argan) and any multipurpose ingredient I could find in my mother’s kitchen or garden.
How do you manage your hair: Moisturize, work in sections, co-wash and deep condition. When it’s not styled, I keep it in plaits or banded.
Biggest challenge: Retaining length and I hate having to protect my hair at nights.
How does your hair make you feel: Expressive!!
Advice to other naturalistas: Listen to your hair and don’t give up on your journey.
